Flood hit Japanese Village, October - November 2011
During Oct – Nov 2011, Ayutthaya Province was experiencing devastating flood due to seasonal rains that are heavier than usual. The flooding was widespread in Ayutthaya’s low-lying agricultural and industrial areas, including Japanese Village that was located on the water-way. Japanese Village was inundated with water since early September 2011. The whole compound was totally covered with water during Oct to Nov 2011, as a result, Japanese Village had to be temporarily closed during that period. The flood affected Japanese Village with severe damage to the whole compound. The building and its wooden wall fixture was damaged by water. Almost all the trees in the compound died, particularly Japanese Garden was severely deteriorated.
